Location of the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland. The hypothalumus is primarily known for its role in linking the nervous system to the endocrine system via the pituitary gland. The hypothalamus controls several base functions in the mammilian brain, and is about almond-sized in homo sapiens. The hypothalamus regulates several hormones and also the pituitary gland itself. Scientists have hypothesized that due to the basal nature of the hypothalamus' function, possible psychic or supernatural activity could occur here undetected unless the subject has a particularly large hypothalamus. As for the pituitary gland, it mainly deals with the human body's psysiological development and so remains understudied by most parapsychologists.

Brodmann area 7 is the intersection of the vision and proprioception functions of the brain, used primarily to locate objects in relation to the body. It also plays a role in language speaking, possibly to define the concepts of objects and their conscious construction. The cross between self-perception and outer-perception makes this area of the brain a good candidate for study regarding the possibility of psychic powers, especially regarding 'telekinesis' (which may emerge with special synesthesia intermixing vision and proprioception).
